South Bank Academies
South Bank University Sixth Form is part of South Bank Academies Multi Academy Trust which has a vision to design, develop and deliver aspirational employment-focused curricula in partnership with sponsors and employers.
This expertise is designed to support and extend SBUSixth in line with LSBUs ambitions to make a substantial and sustained positive impact on the communities it serves.
The Trust provides central resource to add capacity to SBUSixth, for example through effective financial support. The Trust also holds SBUSixth to account through high expectations for all students.
SBUSixth is sister to South Bank University Academy, an academy also specialist in engineering based in Walworth. Both institutions share expertise and capacity in order to offer the best possible education to young people in South London.

Sixth Form Advisory Board members
Our Sixth Form Advisory Board reports in to the South Bank Academies Trust board of Directors. The board is represented by members from London South Bank University, Lambeth Council, Skanska, King’s College NHS Trust, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust, Parents as well as a former secondary headteacher.
Trevor Gordon is the Managing Director of Gordon-Ffrench Associates Ltd. He has extensive experience as an Education Management Consultant. He is the former Deputy Principal of Croydon College, London, and the former Dean, (Executive Principal), of Al Zulfi College of Excellence in the Middle East.
Trevor is a dynamic, strategically focused, and outcome-driven individual who has gained an international reputation as a high calibre senior education manager, staff trainer and Consultant. He has an extensive and commendable track record, steering organisations towards operational excellence and outstanding performance.
He has also designed and delivered staff development training nationally and internationally to over 500 public and private sector organisations in England, Wales, the Channel Islands, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Holland, St Helena in the South Atlantic and the United States.
Trevor is a Fellow of the Institute of Welfare and is also an Associate Consultant and Civilian Contractor to the National College of Policing. He also currently runs the South Bank University Colleges Into Management & Leadership Level 5 and Level 7 ILM Programme for Black Staff.
He has particular expertise in the areas of Community Cohesion and Strategies for Inclusion and has worked with young people at risk of exclusion and isolation.
Trevor has been awarded Honorary Lifetime Fellowship by the Institute of Welfare, (F.I.W), in recognition of his commitment to the issues of equality, diversity and inclusion. Manchester University Press has published his research and he has also been a contributor to several other publications. Trevor also received the 2002 Stephen Lawrence Award for Education.
Lancelot Woods is an educational achievement specialist, first recognised by Ofsted in 2007 for his work raising BME educational achievement using pioneering approaches in South London. His roles have included Programme Leader for English & Math Study at South Bank Colleges (SBC), E-Learning Consultant at Pearson qualifications, Lecturer in FE Math & Business, Apprenticeships Assessor, Project Manager within Y.O.S. and the W2W sector as well as Black History Workshop Presenter at over 100 London schools 2004 – 06.
Lancelot has held executive advisory positions within various Community focused organisations e.g. Victim Support Waltham Forest and the Enfield Youth Offending Services. He has manged & supported volunteer programmes working with L.A.C., Young Fathers and Young offenders in Croydon, Hackney and Haringey boroughs.
Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Lancelot moved to London in 2002; since then, his work has navigated both education & social sectors; from contributing to the Enfield Single Homeless Forum, to being elected LGBTQ+ Equality Representative within his local U.C. Union branch. He has been a Central London District Coordinator of Mentoring services to long-term unemployed Jobcentre Plus clientele, and more recently has been supporting the continued professional development (CPD) of fellow Lecturers at SBC, in workshops on varied equity topics.
Lancelot holds a Professional Award in Management, and also sits on SBC EDI Commitee in support of the colleges’ wider Anti-Racist commitment to the South London community of Lambeth. Lancelot’s perspective has been invaluable in aiding the creation and development of London’s only FE positive-action Management Programme for Black staff at South Bank Colleges. In his downtime, he enjoys, art, poetry, and steel-orchestral music.
